Approach to Liver Lobe Torsion in Rabbits
Enrolment options

Liver lobe torsion (LLT) is an important emergency condition in rabbits that often presents with signs resembling gastrointestinal stasis, including anorexia, lethargy, abdominal pain and reduced faecal output. Diagnosis is strongly supported by anaemia, elevated liver enzymes and Doppler ultrasonography showing reduced or absent blood flow to the affected liver lobe. Treatment involves rapid stabilisation, analgesia and usually surgical liver lobectomy. With prompt diagnosis and surgery, the prognosis is often excellent. Run time 1hr 25mins
